Below are questions that are often asked by our fund holders. If your question is not answered, please contact your Donor Services Representative for more information. 


BASIC QUESTIONS


I forgot my password, how can I reset it?

Go to Donor Portal login page and click on Forgotten Password to reset your password. If you have any trouble, please contact Neil Straub at 412.394.2624 or straubn@pghfdn.org.

How do I update my contact information?

While logged in to the donor portal, click on My Profile > Update Profile to change your contact information.

I received an invitation to a special event hosted by The Pittsburgh Foundation. How do I RSVP?
If you received an invitation via email, please click on the link to the event registration website provided within the email. If you received a printed invitation in the mail, please call the number listed to RSVP for the event.

 

FUND QUESTIONS

Where do I view my fund balance? 

While logged in to the donor portal, click on View Funds & Grants to see a summary of your fund (balance, donations, expenses, etc.). If you want to review a full report, click on View Funds & Grants > Fund Statement and select the dates for which you'd like to see fund information [For more information, see How to Read Your Fund Statement].

Where do I view my fund’s investment summary?

To view your fund's investment activity and rates of return, click on View Funds & Grants > Investment Summary and select the quarter end date you would like to view [For more information, see How to Read Your Investment Summary].

I have a friend who may be interested in starting a fund at The Pittsburgh Foundation. Who should s/he call?

GRANTS QUESTIONS

How do I recommend a grant online?

If you are the current advisor or proxy fund advisor (contact your donor services representative if you’re not sure at 412.391.5122), you can submit a grant recommendation online through the donor portal [Recommend a Grant].

Is there a minimum grant amount?
We process grants of $200 or more.

When can I start making grants?
You can start making grants immediately if there is $200 or more in your grantmaking account.

What types of organizations/programs may I grant to?
You may grant to any public nonprofit organization in the United States with a 501(c)(3) tax status or to foreign organizations that have an equivalent status. Our Grants Management Team will determine the tax status of any potential grantee.

How often are grant checks mailed?
Grant checks are mailed weekly.

May I grant outside Allegheny County?
Yes. You may grant to any nonprofit organization in the United States, or to any foreign organization with an equivalent tax exempt status.   

Do I have to recommend grants every year?
No. Because The Pittsburgh Foundation is a public charity, your fund does not have an annual spending requirement. You may recommend grants at your convenience.
