Opportunities to partner with us: Grants that make an impact

Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
Our 100 Percent Pittsburgh organizing principle engages people in frank, meaningful conversations about what they need to more fully participate in Pittsburgh’s economy. We’ve already begun by focusing on single women raising children and youth ages 12 to 24—two groups largely left behind in our region’s resurgence—and will broaden our focus in the coming years.
We are building 100 Percent Pittsburgh grantmaking out of what people tell us will help them most. We are also investing in new, creative ideas to expand participation. We are supporting grassroots organizing to give all Pittsburghers more power to change policies that limit their future success.
The following are grants that The Pittsburgh Foundation is making in our community. We invite you to consider partnering with the following by using your donor-advised fund. After reviewing the grants, you may recommend a grant online or contact your donor services representative for more information. All grants go to support the operations of each organization.

Society for Contemporary Craft
Society for Contemporary Craft’s mission is to engage the public in creative experience through contemporary craft. It works to fulfill this mission by providing support for artists, filling gaps in public education, sharing cross-cultural perspectives and using art to build community.
Contemporary Craft has relocated to a new, permanent facility in the Upper Lawrenceville neighborhood in Pittsburgh after 33 years in the Produce Terminal Building in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. It is set to open its doors to the public in Spring 2020.

Grow Pittsburgh
Grow Pittsburgh believes that everyone in the city and region should have the opportunity to grow and eat local, healthy, affordable and culturally appropriate food. It works to make gardening accessible for home, school and community gardeners and urban farmers. Grow Pittsburgh teaches people how to grow their own food, while also promoting the benefits that gardens bring to local neighborhoods.
Grow Pittsburgh operates farm stands in Homewood and Braddock as part of its Youth Market Program. These farm stands are run by neighborhood youth and provide their participants with opportunities to develop skills in areas such as customer service, financial management and nutrition. In addition to helping children and teens develop valuable skills the stalls also provide the neighborhoods that they are located in with access to affordable, chemical free-fruits and vegetables.
